More than 105,000 adults in Rhode Island have been diagnosed with diabetes, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health, and a new bill could provide some financial relief in treating the disease.
Diabetes is a condition where glucose, or blood sugar, is too high. It can result in blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, loss of limbs and death. Insulin, which helps regulate glucose, is a commonly prescribed medication for people with different types of diabetes.
