March is a good time for a fresh set of sheets (it’s almost spring-cleaning season), and just in time, an already-affordable Lands’ End set that we’ve recommended time and time again is 40 percent off. We first heard about the 400-thread-count Supima cotton sheets from Annie Meyers-Shyer, daughter of Nancy Meyers, who told us her family has been buying them for years. “They’re sateen, which usually has a shine to them,” Meyers-Shyer said. “But these are not really shiny, which I think is a great thing. They’re cool and warm all at once. They’re so soft, they’re so luxurious. They wash so well.” They’ve also been recommended by fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, who calls them “just as lovely” as the pricier Frette ones she’s slept on. “I don’t remember who recommended them to me, but I do vaguely remember saying to someone, ‘Oh my God, these are the greatest sheets I’ve ever felt,’” she says. And contributor Erika Veurink, a Lands’ End devotee, says her husband, who has “famously indifferent feelings toward our homewares,” loves the sheets as much as she does. “They feel like a hotel,” her husband says.
You can get the solid-color sheets for $138 for a queen-size set, but for an extra touch, go with the polka-dot-embroidered set, which is down to $162 in seven colors. I particularly like the “fresh evergreen” color for spring. Either set is just $17 to monogram, if you please.
