WATCH: Cocoa Police Department Holds Swear-In Ceremony for Officer Lucien Karwowski

Karwowski completed the Criminal Justice Academy at Eastern Florida State College

ABOVE VIDEO: Cocoa Police Chief Evander Collier IV administered the Police Officer’s Oath of Office Tuesday morning, to the newest member of the Department Lucien Karwowski.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Chief Evander Collier IV administered the Police Officer’s Oath of Office to the newest member of the Department on Tuesday.

Lucien Karwowski, 27, was sworn in during a special ceremony witnessed by his parents, department personnel, and the mayor.

Officer Karwowski is originally from Rochester, New York. In 2018, Karwowski earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Utica University.

While at the University, he interned with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) where he participated in several search warrants.

He was a volunteer firefighter/EMT in New York. Karwowski moved to Florida in 2019 to pursue a law enforcement career. He worked for the Duval County School District as a school safety assistant.

He later moved to Palm Beach County where he also worked as a safe school officer. Karwowski completed the Criminal Justice Academy at Eastern Florida State College where he graduated in June, and subsequently earned his Florida Law Enforcement Certification.

Karwowski will spend the next several weeks in training, learning the department’s policies and procedures. He will be placed with a field training officer to learn operational practices.

Upon his successful completion of all training protocols, he will be assigned to a squad for patrol duties.
