Coffee drinkers in Lebanon County are encouraged to visit new java shops this winter.

Visit Lebanon Valley’s annual Java Journey coffee trail is set to begin its fifth run on Jan. 11.

Using the self-guided passport book, Java Journey participants will have until March 9 to collect stamps from 12 coffee shops around the Lebanon Valley for a chance at winning this year’s prizes.

Those interested in joining the coffee trail can pick up a passport and mug for $10 at any participating location throughout the length of the journey. With the passport, participants will get exclusive access to a “special drink” and will receive a stamp from each location where they make a purchase.

Once a participant gets a stamp from all 12 locations, they can turn in their passport to receive a sticker sheet and a chance to win a stay at the Annville Inn Bed & Breakfast, as well as various runner-up prizes.

After the success of the 2023 journey, during which 50% of all purchased passports were completed and returned, Visit Lebanon Valley said it is seeking a strong return for 2024.

“This will be our fifth year for the Java Journey and every year it interests more people,” says Visit Lebanon Valley President Jennifer Kuzo. “It’s a great way to discover the best cups of joe while experiencing charming small towns, unique flavors and secret drinks.”

Ally Tumminaro of Ancestor Coffeehouse & Crêperie said “The Java Journey allows each coffeeshop to showcase their individual styles and skills, while also uniting us to create a memorable experience for each participant.”

This year’s journey includes:

  • Ancestor Coffeehouse & Crêperie, Campbelltown and Cornwall.
  • Baked Sweet Coffeehouse & Bakery, Frystown.
  • Caffeination Station, Palmyra.
  • City Watch Coffee, Lebanon.
  • Mill 72 Bake Shop & Café, Lebanon.
  • Swatara Coffee Company, Annville and Jonestown.
  • Sydney Roasting Company, Lebanon.
