WARNER ROBINS (41NBC/WMGT) – The Middle Georgia Coffee Crawl, which started January 5 and runs through January 31, is exceeding all expectations.

Ten local coffee shops came together to create the event.

Sophia Smith, the owner of Little Light Coffee Co., says it was designed to promote local coffee shops in Middle Georgia and boost sales in January, a month typically slow for small businesses.

Smith says coffee lovers from all over the area are participating, which requires them to visit all 10 coffee shops and purchase a coffee or pastry to complete the crawl.

A passport punch card is available at any of the participating locations, and once participants have visited all the coffee shops, they can turn in their passport at Little Light Co. to receive a free Coffee Crawl shirt.

The passport must be received by January 31 to qualify for the shirt. Little Light Coffee Co. is located at 4027 Watson Blvd., Suite 220 in Warner Robins.

“You don’t have to go to something super expensive,” Smith said. “You can go get a $3 cup of coffee and have this super awesome day, and I think that’s really what people are bonding over.”

Phillip Odom, the assistant manager at Bodega Brew, says they’ve had more than 100 people participate in the crawl at their location alone.

Here’s the list of participating shops:

  • Bonaire & Warner Robins: Between Friends, Little Light Coffee Co., Decadent (Warner Robins), Z Beans (Warner Robins), Caffe Vignette
  • Macon: Cathedral Coffee, Oh Honey Baking Co., Taste & See
  • Perry: Bodega Brew, Morning by Morning
