Earlier this month, Trader Joe’s released a new corn snack that has a lot of shoppers talking.
Retailing for $3.99 for an 8-ounce bag, the Dark Chocolate Covered Crunchy Corn Kernels are described by Trader Joe’s as “sweet, savory, oh-so-satisfyingly Crunchy morsels of roasty, toasty Corn smothered in rich Dark Chocolate represent a snacking synthesis that we’re utterly excited to explore.”

According to shoppers, however, the flavor isn’t the only selling point for this treat.
“I was expecting these to be hard like corn nuts, but they’re actually quite airy and easy to chew! And I say this as someone who grew up eating bags and bags of corn nuts. These are a new favorite sweet and savory treat!” one TJ shopper wrote via Reddit.
“They’re good!! And not hard on your teeth like corn nuts!” added another on Instagram.

“Bought them this morning. They have the corn nuts flavor, but won’t break your teeth! I was just telling my kid that I almost didn’t buy them for that exact reason,” a third user chimed in, while a fourth echoed, “They are quite crunchy, but don’t feel like the level of breaking my teeth crunchy. I think the chocolate softens the crunch. I really like them!”
Trader Joe’s has a wide variety of corn-centric snacks, including Movie Theater Popcorn, Corn Tortilla Chips, Corn Chip Dippers, Chile & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips, and Cornbread Crisps.
