The Science Siblings, Adam and Paige Jacobson, recruited 4-year-old Tukker and 2-year-old Jayger for a density experiment.

They tested whether fruits and veggies float or sink in a bowl of water.

“Density is how compact a substance is,” Paige said.

“Buoyant” was their chosen Science Word of the Day. The Jacobsons, Tukker, and Jayger found that pumpkins are especially buoyant.

“When objects float in the water, it means that they’re more buoyant,” Adam said. “And if something is buoyant, that means that it’s able to stay afloat or raise to the top of a liquid or a gas.”
