DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team will host its annual Crimson & Gold Intrasquad on Sunday, December 19, at 2 p.m. The event will be held in Magness Arena for the first time ever.
Admission is free for all fans, though tickets are required and can be reserved online. Season ticket holders should have received their intrasquad ticket via email and should contact the Ritchie Center box office at 303-871-4625 with any questions.
Sunday’s event will feature the team competing on all four events in front of judges as preparation for the 2022 season, which begins with a home meet on January 9 against San Jose State.
Fans are invited back to Magness Arena for the first time in two years following health and safety restrictions in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks are required for all fans during Sunday’s meet and for all Denver home events this year.
Denver is ranked No. 10 in the preseason coaches’ poll heading into the 2022 season. The 2021 season saw DU win its first-ever Big 12 Conference championship and the team advance to NCAA Regionals for the 22nd straight time. Among the student-athletes returning for the 2022 season are graduate students Lynnzee Brown, Emily Glynn and Mia Sundstrom, as well as senior and team captain Alexandria Ruiz.
Three newcomers have joined the DU team this season in freshmen Mia Hebinck and Momo Iwai, and junior transfer Emma Brown.
