America Ferrera Makes an Entrance in a Silver Sequin Gown Covered in Pearls

The Real-World Barbie looked out of this world tonight as she hit the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globes.

America Ferrera made an entrance at the award show in a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown. The silver sequin piece featured dangly pearl embellishments throughout, plus silver shoulder straps also lined with round white pearls.

The Ugly Betty star paired the gown with matching silver Dolce & Gabbana heels, plus a two-strand white diamond necklace and cascading diamond earrings by Harry Winston. The look was put together by stylist Karla Welch.

For glam, the actor wore subtle mar0on eyeshadow, black liner, a berry lip, and a sleek side-parted bob curled up at the ends.

Barbie is nominated in nine categories at the Globes tonight, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, and Best Original Song – Motion Picture. In the last category, it is nominated three times, for Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken,” and Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”

The film broke records this year, becoming the highest-earning live-action movie globally by a female director ever and the most successful global release in Warner Bros. history, among many other things.

Following the release of Barbie, Ferrera has been widely praised for her role as Gloria, and in particular for her powerful monologue, in which she speaks about the impossibly difficult lived experience of being a woman. Still, the actor did not receive an individual nomination tonight.
